Privacy Policy
Effective date: April 15, 2026 · Last updated: July 19, 2026
LapseCloud ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website lapsecloud.com and the client portal at app.lapsecloud.com (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it.
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the Service.
1. Who We Are
LapseCloud provides construction site timelapse photography and monitoring services. Clients install their own IP cameras; we provide the FTP credentials, the cloud portal where photos and videos are viewed, and professionally edited timelapse videos.
For privacy-related questions: info@lapsecloud.com
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
- Onboarding form (lapsecloud.com): name, company name, email address, and a rough camera count, submitted via our Quick Start form. An optional follow-up form collects further project details if you choose to share them.
- Account registration (portal): name, email address, company name, phone number, job title.
- Communications: messages you send us via email, WhatsApp, or contact forms.
- Payment information: processed entirely by PayPal — we do not store card or banking details on our servers.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Advertising cookie (lapsecloud.com only): a Google Ads conversion-tracking cookie, which only loads after you accept cookies via the banner on this site. It tells us whether a visit came from one of our ads — we do not receive your name or email through this cookie.
- Analytics cookie (lapsecloud.com only): Google Analytics (GA4), also gated behind the same cookie banner, used to understand which pages visitors use.
- Session cookies (portal only): used solely to keep you logged in. The portal does not use analytics or advertising cookies.
- Device data: IP address, browser type, operating system.
2.3 Construction site media
- Photos and videos captured by your camera are uploaded and stored on our servers.
- These images may incidentally capture workers or visitors at your site. You are responsible for posting appropriate notices at your site in accordance with local law.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To respond to your inquiry and explain camera/FTP setup.
- To create and manage your account and portal access.
- To process service agreements and invoices.
- To send service-related notifications (account activation, sync alerts).
- To measure whether our advertising is reaching real prospective clients (only if you accept the advertising cookie).
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not share your data with advertisers beyond the anonymous conversion signal described above.
4. Legal Basis for Processing (UK/EU GDPR)
Because our advertising targets UK visitors specifically, we apply a GDPR-standard of care across the board. If you are in the UK or EEA, we process your data under:
- Contract performance: processing necessary to deliver the Service.
- Legitimate interests: improving the Service, maintaining security, preventing fraud.
- Legal obligation: complying with applicable laws.
- Consent: for the advertising and analytics cookies described above.
5. Data Sharing and Third Parties
We share data only with trusted service providers necessary to operate the Service:
6. Data Retention
- Account data is retained for the duration of your subscription and up to 12 months after termination.
- Construction site media is retained for the duration of your subscription and deleted within 30 days of termination.
- Onboarding-form inquiries that don't become clients are kept up to 24 months, then deleted, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- System logs are retained for up to 90 days.
- Payment records are retained as required by applicable tax law.
7. Data Security
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit.
- Role-based access control — users access only data their role permits.
- Row-level security enforced at the database level.
- API keys and credentials stored as encrypted secrets, never in source code.
- Regular security audits of HTTP headers and content security policies.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data ("right to be forgotten").
- Receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format.
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw consent at any time for cookies — use the "Cookie Preferences" link in our footer.
To exercise any of these rights, email info@lapsecloud.com. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Cookies
On lapsecloud.com: we use a Google Ads conversion cookie and a Google Analytics (GA4) cookie. Neither loads until you click "Accept" on our cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time via the "Cookie Preferences" link in the footer. Rejecting cookies does not affect your ability to browse the site, fill out forms, or become a client.
On app.lapsecloud.com (the portal): we use only essential session cookies to keep you logged in. No analytics or advertising cookies are used on the portal.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for businesses and professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 18.
11. International Transfers
Our service providers may process data outside your country of residence, including the United States. We rely on standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards where required by law.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
